Yesterday’s Youth problems are vastly different to the problems our youth are facing today. Growing up has always been difficult but for the youth of today, it is doubly difficult.

Yet…. Youth for Christ believes there is hope!

We, at Gold Coast Youth for Christ, want to see a generation of whole and healthy young people who have developed a balance in the four areas of living - physical, social, mental and spiritual. We want them to be as strong in spirit as they are in body, by bringing together the fragments of life’s problems around the principles and message taught by Christ.

Our Background….
Youth for Christ is an interdenominational global organisation pioneered in 1946 and now established in over 60 countries. It holds to conservative evangelical doctrines of belief. To achieve our vision requires a creative edge and a servant heart. The hard but exciting task, is to create outreach opportunities that are relevant today. We attempt to challenge young people to ask questions about life, their worth, their future, God, society and ultimately how they can make a difference in their generation.

There are many facets of ministry within Gold Coast Youth for Christ.

YOUTH GUIDANCE CAMPS -
Youth guidance camps are run just after Christmas. We take “AT RISK” young people away for 8 days and our specialist staff work with them and along side them to show how Christ can make a difference in their life. These young people are sponsored to go on camp because they don’t have the funds and have no way of obtaining the funds, to pay their own way. It costs approximately $280 to send one of these young people to the Youth Guidance Camp. Please consider sponsoring an At Risk youth to camp.

B.O.L.D. (Bread Of Life Distribution) -
We have been given the opportunity to receive excess food from well known Gold Coast bakeries on a regular basis. We have a team of volunteers who are trained and distribute this food to the needy. Over 500 families per week receive food as a result of this outreach program.

CROSSHORE ADVENTURES -
This is a new outreach program, established specifically to reach the surfies on the Gold Coast with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

TOURING TEAMS -
The touring teams play cover songs at a mini-concert program in local high schools that is designed to attract the youth to come to a main concert at the centre where the Gospel is presented in a relevant and non-threatening way. The touring team also has programs for Detention centres, Youth Services and Church Services.

ROCK SOLID CLUBS -
Rock Solid is a club based program that high schoolers attend, usually on a Friday evening, where they play some games - ie Basketball, Indoor Cricket etc. - and ends with a discussion session where their questions are answered from a biblical perspective, giving them positive reassurance and team building skills.

YOUTH CAMPS - For many years since the late 1950’s, YFC has run large youth camps on the Gold Coast at the Tallebudgera camp site. We are looking to restart these camps within the next two years in a relevant format that will appeal to the youth of today.
