After serving in the political scene in Australia for many years, John has been serving as Vice President and Director of Mercy Ships in the U.S.A. and England.  He has now returned to Australia to continue working here in ministry.

I am privileged to serve on the YFC Gold Coast Board of Reference. I have been associated with YFC in Australia for approximately 30 years now. I am convinced there is no organization better at reaching young people with the Gospel.

YFC has, over the years, kept pace with the times. And how the times have changed. Our youth are increasingly growing up in a society where Christian values are constantly under attack. The evangelization of children and young people was never more urgent.

YFC continues to reach out to our youth in a relevant and contemporary manner. May God continue to bless the efforts of all associated with YFC.

Answers in Genesis-USA

Today's society has changed dramatically in so many ways. For example, it is more difficult than ever to reach the new generations of young people with Biblical truths, because (by and large) they have come through an education system that inoculates them against Christianity. Furthermore, the church has become increasingly ineffective in 'touching' society - mainly because in many ways, the church has allowed society to 'touch' the church (by compromising with evolution and millions of years, for example).

The Lord has raised up Gold Coast Youth for Christ to go into the 'market place' to reach young people where they 'are at'. While much of the church is now unable to reach students as they used to, I am thrilled that the young people involved in this vital outreach do understand the real issues today (such as evolutionary teaching) that stop many students even listening to the Gospel. They are using evangelistic booklets from Answers in Genesis that cover intriguing topics such as: Where did God come from?, What about evolution?, dinosaurs, 'races,' etc. to challenge today's young people with the answers that support the Bible's historicity - and thus opening them up to the Gospel.

I am pleased to be on the board of reference for this ministry that is reaching today's young people with Biblical truths, especially the saving Gospel.

Russell, Senior Pastor, established Robina Christian Family two years ago when it started with 4 members and has now grown to a congregation of 350 people. He is also past President of the Baptist Union of Queensland.

With an emphasis on evangelism, one of the privileges that I have experienced over past years is that of assisting Gold Coast Youth for Christ in preparing these young people in the touring teams to be ready to minister to the youth of this nation. Gold Coast Youth for Christ is committed to reaching today's youth in a relevant and exciting way but staying anchored to the rock. I recommend this ministry to anyone who has a heart for youth ministry and seeing young lives changed.

All Youth for Christ touring teams have ministered in our church and have been a blessing to us. I warmly recommend them to all pastors.
